There will be no Video Query of the Day as we are spending the day optimizing the search protocols and adding new handicapping parameters. We hopefully will be back tomorrow. In the meantime, please feel free to browse through the NFL and MLB worksheets or the past video queries of the day.

MLB SDQL Video Query of the Day — 20150524

The SDQL is terrific for uncovering line value in baseball. Check out yesterday’s write-ups from the certified SDQL Masters at MTI Sports Forecasting:

Texas +155 over NY YANKEES — The last time that Sabathia faced the Rangers, he went eight innings and allowed four runs in a 7-4 win. The Yankees scored two in the top of the first and never trailed. This is a spot in which Sabathia has not been sharp. NY is 0-9 with Sabathia vs a team he beat in his last outing when he allowed at least six hits and the Yankees scored first. The SDQL text is:

starter=CC Sabathia and S:W and S:SF and S:SHA>=6 and date>=20130600

Note that CC has not had a single quality start in five outings since the start of the 2014 season.

The Rangers have been underestimated in this spot. Texas has won six straight as a DOG of more than 130 vs a team that is less than 600 on the season when they are off a game in which they scored six-plus runs. The SDQL text is:

team=Rangers and line>130 and p:runs>=6 and o:WP=20140721

Also, Texas is 12-4 as a ROAD DOG when their opponent is seeking immediate revenge for a one-run defeat, as can be seen by running this SDQL text:

team=Rangers and AD and p:margin=1 and SG>1 and date>=20100613

Texas has the line value.

Cincinnati +200 over CLEVELAND — The Indians are on a roll, but this is exactly what inspires the Reds. Cincinnati is a remarkable 10-1 on the road vs a team that has won at least four straight and it is not a series opener. The SDQL text is:

team=Reds and A and 41 and date>=20120415

Note that the Reds’ lone defeat in this spot came by a 2-1 margin as a 170 dog to Wainwright in which they outhit the Cardinals 8-4.

Yes, DeSclafani was hit badly in his last outing, but the Reds are a supportive 11-2 as a DOG when they are off a loss and their starter went less than four innings and allowed more than three runs in his last start.

The Indians scored seven runs yesterday with the help of EIGHT walks. The have not won in this spot all season. In 2015, the Tribe is 0-8 off a game in which they scored at least six runs and drew more than three walks. The SDQL text is:

team=Indians and p:runs >= 6 and p:walks > 3 and season=2015

Cleveland has simply been non-competitive in these games. They lost every game by multiple runs with an average losing margin of 4.25 runs and they were a 122 favorite on the average. Brutal.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the Tribe is 0-4 when they are off a walk-off loss in their starters last start and it is not a series opener. See for yourself with this SDQL text:

team=Indians and F and so:WOW and SG!=1 and season>=2012

What is interesting about this situation is that the last two times that Kluber was in it, the Indians were shut out 5-0 and 6-0. This line is simply too high.

Today’s video reveals an OVER spot for the Phillies.
